Raleigh Ranks 3rd Among the Best Large Cities to Live In

The Capital City of Raleigh just scored a big accolade landing third on a list of the best large U.S. cities to live in, merely points behind San Francisco and Seattle, Wash. The recognition comes on the heels of a June real estate market that saw Triangle home sales increase by 8 percent over the previous year.

Compiled by finance research website WalletHub, the study assessed the 62 largest cities in the nation based on four key dimensions including livability, education, health, and local economy and taxes.

Raleigh ranked well in all four research categories posting the following results:
– #2 for local economy and taxes;
– #8 for overall livability;
– #8 for education and school system quality; and
– #15 for population health.

“It isn’t surprising to see that Raleigh scored so well on this national study. Raleigh and the cities and towns that make up the greater Triangle area boast some of the most in-demand zip codes in the state,” said David Jones, Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston President and COO. “With the immense amount of job opportunities, a convenient setting ideal for residents of all ages from college students to retirees, and a prospering economy, prospective homebuyers will find all that they seek here.”

WalletHub shared further details about different rankings within the four categories it used to review the large cities. The study also reported that Raleigh ranked second among cities with the best school systems as well as those with the highest household income adjusted by cost of living.
